Chester Carl Clingan, born on July 18, 1944, in Oroville, California to Boyd and Verna Clingan. He passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, in Casper, Wyoming. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Chester's educational journey culminated at Oroville High School, where he graduated in 1964. Throughout his life, he embraced a career as a published author and was known for his venture in the 1970s, during which he published a small science fiction magazine that reflected his passion for storytelling. Chester was a good, decent, hardworking regular guy whose compassion extended to both people and animals alike; he loved his dogs and cats deeply.
Family was at the heart of Chester's life. He delighted in being together with loved ones during holiday gatherings and treasured summer trips to the river with his family and their dog. His proudest accomplishments included watching his son, Spencer, get married and the joy of witnessing the growth of his family. Chester's love for his family extended to his beloved wife, Kathryn, who stood by his side throughout their journey together.
Chester is survived by his wife, Kathryn; son, Spencer; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann; granddaughter, Hannah (Evan) Kelsay; grandsons, Malcom, Seth, and Michael; and great-grandson, Leo. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
Chester had a playful spirit and enjoyed reading and playing pinball. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those who knew him. The impact he had on his family and friends will be cherished forever, as they hold his memories close to their hearts.
