Christopher Hayes Icenogle

Chris was born March 26, 1954 in Denver, CO to Stanley and Carleen (Bock) Icenogle. He had three brothers, Stan, Tim, and Joe, and, following the death of his mother, he had several stepmothers who added four sisters to the family, including RoeAnn and Aimi. After graduating from high school, Chris entered the United States Air Force in 1972, serving his country in Germany until his discharge in 1975. Chris was blessed to have so much love in his life. He married wife Laurie, and they had two sons, Christopher Ian, who lived for just over a year, and Cory Brett, who resides in South Dakota. He was then married to Becky and then to his soulmate, Mellody, with whom he gained so much family—first her children Andy and Chrissy Patceg. Then Andy added his wife Brandy and eventually their children Lucas, Rachel, Joshua, and Evie. Chrissy then added husband Tyler Batt, and they have two children, Taylor and Essa. Cory married Ann and they had two daughters, Faith and Bekah.

After a long battle with cancer, Mellody passed away in 2013.

Over the course of his life, Chris worked in many fields, both of employment and of volunteering. He was dedicated to Special Olympics. He worked at the Casper Events Center providing medical care during their many concerts and special events. He worked as an ambulance driver and EMT for Evansville. He worked as a trainer for EMT’s for years. He worked as an over the road trucker. He spent 28 years at the Dave Johnston Power Plant as a mechanic. And he worked at Waste Connections in Casper and then at Public Works in Glenrock. In all of his many passions and dedication, he developed many lifelong, loving friendships.

Following the death of his soulmate, he reconnected with Ada Pauline, one of those friends, a widow who had lost her soulmate in 2006. They married in September of 2015 and resided in Glenrock.

After Chris’s son Cory and wife Ann divorced, Ann married Craig Eutsler, adding his daughter Savannah to the family. Craig and Ann moved to Glenrock and added their daughter Elora to the family. Chris and Ada continued to reside in Glenrock, enjoying the love of more family, including Ada’s children Kelley and Heather, and their husbands (both Chris) and families. Those families include Lukas and Hayden Lythgoe and Wyatt, Preston and Caitlin Rhamy.

Right up until the end, when he passed from a rapidly spreading cancer, Chris was surrounded by so much love. May he rest in peace with his Mellody.

Memorial service is set for Tuesday, August 25, at 2 PM at the Glenrock Cemetery, with a full military service. Pastor Jim Ritter will preside. Reception to follow at the Four Aces with an opportunity for all to share memories of Chris.
