Clotilde Roberta McFarland, born Weishaar, passed away peacefully at the age of 103, leaving behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and fierce devotion to family. A woman ahead of her time, Clotilde's life was a testament to resilience, grace, and bold love.

Born in Howard, South Dakota on November 8, 1921, Clotilde moved to Chicago with just $5 in her pocket, armed only with her faith, grit, and an unshakable sense of purpose. Over the years, she became the beating heart of her family — raising multiple generations of grandchildren with wisdom, warmth, and unwavering care.

She loved to dance, to laugh, and to gather people close. Her home was always alive with music, movement, and the card game "king's corners" — a game she taught to anyone who walked through her door. Family members still recall the joy of dancing in her living room and the comfort of her ever-present support.

During World War Il, Clotilde devoted herself to supporting soldiers from afar — a quiet patriot with a big heart. After the war ended, she married Floyd McFarland, a U.S. Marine who had returned home from service, and together they moved to Casper, Wyoming, where they built an incredible life and legacy.

Clotilde had a soft spot for nice things, a fierce sense of loyalty, and a bold kind of strength that made everyone around her feel safe.

Her faith guided her life. A proud Catholic and lifelong caretaker, she was always of service — to her church, her family, and her community. She told stories like nobody else, weaving laughter, memory, and meaning in equal measure.

Her strength was not quiet. It was mighty.

Clotilde was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd N. McFarland, who passed in 1991, and her cherished daughter, Mary, who passed in 2022.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Robb and Sherry Wilkerson, as well as eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Clotilde leaves behind a legacy of devotion, love, and dancing feet. She taught us what it means to serve, to laugh, to endure, and to show up for each other again and again.

She will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered.

Both the service, which will be held at the Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled for later this summer.
