Connie Muir-Zauner, 67, passed away Sept. 4, 2025 in Casper, WY. She was born Sept. 13, 1957 to Ray and Karen Muir in Colorado. She moved around quite a bit in her youth with her mother and brother Sam, eventually ending up in Glenrock. She went to Glenrock High School and Casper College getting her associates degree in accounting and photography. Connie was an avid reader, sometimes reading multiple books at a time from different genres. She was very creative as a photographer, loved to spend her time painting, doing bead and diamond art, among other crafts. She enjoyed seeing movies and watching old sci-fi movies and shows, usually in the background while doing her crafts.
In 1985, she married the love of her life, Ralph Zauner. She gained 2 step-sons, Ralph G. and Eric. With her husband Ralph, she helped raise his boys. They ran movie theatres, (the Mile High Drive In and Terrace Drive In). They traveled, they saw things, went to craft fairs and shows with their blow-up slides and bounce houses, they owned and operated 2 gift stores in Cheyenne and Rapid City, SD, and had fun doing it. They loved their hairy doorbells (dogs). They moved back to Casper from Cheyenne recently to be closer to family and friends.
Connie is survived by her brother Sam Muir and family of West Yellowstone, MT, her sons; Ralph G. Zauner (Jennifer) of Casper and Eric Zauner of Mississippi, her nephews Keil Muir and Lance Muir and their families, her 3 grandchildren Heather, Laura and Joseph, longtime friends Blob, Barb, Nikki, Sharon and many others too numerous to name that she has met along her interesting journey of life. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph (just 2 years ago), her parents Ray Muir, Karen Muir, Papa John Bryan, along with many, many friends over the years she met.
The family would like to thank all the staff and residents at Meadow Wind for the care and friendship (she loved giving away her art), and the doctors, nurses and aides at the Wyoming Medical Center ICU for the care on her final day. Without nurses and aides, our time at the end would be very difficult, we can’t thank them enough.
Per her request, and her cheapness, no services will be held and cremation will take place. In her memory, please think good thoughts for her, don’t be sad for her passing, be glad she isn’t suffering any longer. She lived as she wanted, and went on her own terms.
