Cynthia “Cindy” Lee Kastner, 66, of Casper, found eternal peace on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Cindy lived a quiet life, finding joy in the comforts of home and the people she loved. Rather than chasing adventure, she offered steadiness and kindness each day. In a fast-moving world, Cindy was a reminder of the value of being a good neighbor, a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother.
Born May 22, 1959, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to the late William and Bonnie (Burton) Wood, Cindy graduated from Kelly Walsh High School. She and her sister Penny owned and operated Busy Day Daycare in Casper before Cindy moved to California in 1985, where she met her husband. Returning to Casper in 1991 to raise her family.
Cindy held memorable roles at KB Toys, Merle Norman, and Walgreens—where customers were known to wait in long lines just to check out with her. After retirement, she found her greatest joy in being a grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Keily Fisher (Matthew) and Cody Kastner; and her beloved grandchildren, Maisey Fisher, Michael Fisher, and Sturgis Kastner and two bonus grandsons August and Houston Smith. She is also survived by her siblings: Billy Wood; Pam (Jarrod) Novotny; Penny (Jerry Hill) Holthouse; and Kathie (Gary) Broman. Cindy leaves behind nieces and nephews Jaeson Boyers, Tyler Holthouse, Matthew Holthouse, Brittney Linaman, and Dylan Angwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norby Kastner; her parents; and many cherished aunts and uncles.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 31 at 10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, with a reception to follow at the same location.
