Debra Kay Loveland: 1951 – 2026

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Debra Kay Loveland (Miller), a cherished wife, mother, nana, and sister. Debbie passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living.

Debbie was born on October 22, 1951, in Greeley, Colorado, to Raymond and Rachel Miller. Her family later moved to Wyoming in search of better work opportunities. She graduated from Medicine Bow High School in 1970 as part of a small but close-knit class of eight students. Debbie then moved to Casper, where she studied business at Casper College.

After college, Debbie began working at the Shirley Basin Mine, where she met the love of her life, Les. Certain he was “the one,” she famously told her father, “Get your suit cleaned, there’s going to be a wedding.” Her intuition proved right—Debbie and Les shared 53 years of marriage.

Known for her caring and devoted nature, Debbie’s greatest priority was her family, especially ensuring her special-needs son lived his best possible life. She wanted nothing more than for Joe to live healthy and independently, and she advocated for him with unwavering love and determination.

Debbie and her daughter, Jess, shared a bond built on love, laughter, and friendship. They were best friends and trusted confidantes, sharing life’s joys and challenges side by side. Deb taught Jess how to cook, passing down not only recipes but cherished memories made in the kitchen. Together, they enjoyed little adventures, including using Les’s money to shop for purses and creating stories they would laugh about for years.

Debbie was incredibly proud of her granddaughters and never missed an opportunity to share their accomplishments. She followed their lives with genuine joy, cheering them on through every milestone and speaking of them with unmistakable pride. Being their “Nana” was one of her greatest joys, and her love for them was boundless.

Debbie loved to travel and embrace new experiences. She especially treasured trips to Hawaii, where she went zip-lining for the first time at age 60. One of her most memorable adventures was a trip to China, guided proudly by her granddaughter, Laney. Summers often found Debbie at Alcova, enjoying time at the family lake cottage surrounded by loved ones.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Les; her daughter, Jessica Oden (Howard); her son, Joseph; and her granddaughters: Madelynn, Katelynn, and Delaney. She is also survived by her brothers, Jerry (Lila) of Douglas and Mike of Casper; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends sincere gratitude to Mountain Plaza Assisted Living and Enhabit Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult time.

In accordance with Debbie’s wishes, no services will be held. The family will gather privately at a later date.
