Diego Alejandro Avila

Diego Alejandro Avila, 26, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Friday, May 8, 2026.

Diego Avila, an amazing and beloved resident of Casper, Wyoming, joined Heaven on May 8th, 2026, at the young age of 26.

Diego was born to Miguel Avila and Norma Martinez in El Paso, Texas, on June 14th, 1999. He graduated from Casper College on May 16th, 2025, with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Science Technology.

At a young age, Diego was involved in the Boy Scouts while living in California due to his love for nature and the outdoors. Because of this passion, he frequently went on hikes with his family and visited national parks such as the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoia, Yellowstone, and Joshua Tree.

Diego had a big heart and was passionate about helping others and growing in his Christian faith. He served on the leadership team for Campus Ventures at Casper College and volunteered hundreds of hours helping members of the community with moving, shoveling, and cleaning. Diego also attended an eight-week summer mission trip to Denver in 2023.

Along with his big heart came his love for cats and video games. Through gaming, Diego met many amazing friends who loved and supported him. Among the many things he loved, mango juice was one of his favorites, much more than water- though not more than the Molten Chocolate Cake that he and his family enjoyed on every trip to Chili’s. He could also recite every Star Wars movie, as it was one of his favorite series.

Diego was a man of few words, but when he spoke about the things he loved, his passion was undeniable. He was incredibly smart, funny, and deeply thoughtful.

He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, and he will forever live in the hearts of the people he touched.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Bethel Baptist Church, 3030 S Poplar St, Casper, WY 82601 for Diego's Casper family and friends. A service will be planned for a later date for Diego's California family and friends.
