Donald R. Washburn, affectionately known as “Don”, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 87. Born on July 19,1938, in Paso Robles, California, Don spent a lifetime building memories through kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. Don's legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Toni Washburn, and their daughters: Kathy Reish, Lyn Washburn, Theresa Fountain, Barb Curtis and his deceased daughter JoAnn Arlington.

His greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones, whether reminiscing by the campfire, offering sage advice on landscaping, or teaching the best way to make a square cut. Don's sense of humor and knack for mixing wit with wisdom will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A true outdoorsman. Don enjoyed camping and sitting around the camp fire with family and friends, days spent at the cabin and behind the wheel of his John Deere tractor.

He found peace and purpose working in his yard, always ready with tips for his daughters on how to plant a tree or create the perfect flowerbed, an avid woodworker, reader, and music lover. Don made every moment spent with others meaningful, always eager to lend a helping hand rather plowing snow for neighbors or strangers, or simply sharing a hearty laugh. Don gave generously of himself to his community. He was an active member and choir singer at Highland Park Church where his faith is strong in God. Don served as President of the Rawlins Chamber of Commerce. His charitable spirit touched countless lives, quietly supporting a variety of organizations through the years. Above all else, Don's enduring love for his wife and family defined him. His humor, warmth, and wisdom are irreplaceable gifts that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

We will have a private family service for Don at Organ Trail State Veterans Cemetery.

A celebration of Don's life will be announced at a later date and time.

He will be forever cherished and never forgotten.
