Donna Marie Woodhead Parrish passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming, the city she called home for over 6 decades. Donna was born on November 20, 1936, in Superior, Wyoming, where she grew up and attended grade school, junior high, and Superior High School, graduating in 1954. A standout twirler, she was known for her skill with the baton throughout her high school years.
After graduating, Donna attended the University of Wyoming, where she earned her Associate's Degree in Special Education in 1956. It was at the university that she met Marvin Parrish, and the two were married in November of 1956 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Thermopolis, Wyoming. After living in several cities across Wyoming, they settled in Casper, where they raised their four children. Donna and Marvin later divorced in 1984.
In 1962, Donna and Marvin opened Sunrise Laundry and Dry Cleaning, where Donna managed the day-to-day operations. She also helped with Parrish and Company, Insurance and Bonding, all while raising her family. From 1988 to 2000, Donna worked as a job coach for the Natrona County School District, helping students transition into the working world after high school. She truly enjoyed her students and wanted them to succeed after high school, often going above and beyond by providing meals, clothing, or transportation when they were in need.
A devoted member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Donna spent countless hours volunteering at the Glass House, a second-hand store staffed by church members. She loved walking to meet her friends, spending time with her grandsons Grady and Fletcher in Casper, and finding humor in even the most difficult situations. And of course, Donna loved to dance — just ask Bob.
Donna met Bob at the weekly dance at Casper Senior Center over 15 years ago. Bob has remained a steadfast partner who in the end, cared for Donna unconditionally.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Vivian Shroyer Woodhead; her brother, George E. Woodhead; and her sisters, Bernice Uhls and Connie Ridout.
She is survived by her loving partner, Robert (Bob) Truax, her 4 children: BeLinda (Peter) Bellows, Joe(Carrie) Parrish, Cindy (Bruce Lamberson) Parrish, and Kelly (Marco) Spagnuolo. Her 7 grandchildren, Cody (Seth) Andrews, Kiah (Jacob) Farley, Grady Parrish, Fletcher (Shaelea) Parrish, Ella, Anna and Renzo Spagnuolo. Step grandchildren: Brooke (Jimmy) Beck, Ben (Auri) Lamberson, and Betsy Lamberson. Her great grandchildren, Wilder Farley and Rowan Andrews. Close to her heart are several nieces and nephews, including Paul (Dennis) Uhls, Debra Uhls, Diane Maestas, Darlene Merrell.
Per Donna's request, no service will be held. Her family will instead gather for a celebration of her life while spreading her ashes in the city where she was born and raised, Superior WY. Those wishing to honor the memory of Donna are invited to make a memorial donation to: centralwyominghospice.org.
Donna danced her way through life, and now she dances her way to a peaceful, pain-free rest
