Earl Allen Stokes, Jr., a beloved figure to many, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 92. Born on October 26, 1933, in Mobile, Alabama, Earl led a life rich with love, service, and quiet heroism. He was a loyal servant to his family, friends, and community, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication.

Earl’s journey through life was marked by his commitment to service; he enlisted in the United States Navy at the young age of 17. As a firefighter in the Navy, he showed unwavering bravery and strength, earning an honorable discharge on February 16, 1954. This spirit of service continued throughout his life, evident in his career as a butcher for the Union, where he not only honed his skills through obtaining his GED and college credits but also exemplified diligence in service to his family.

In 1959, Earl married the love of his life, Patricia Lucille Stokes, creating a bond that would last for 66 beautiful years. Their love story began in December 1958, blossoming over four months of engagement before they exchanged their vows. Just a few weeks before Earl’s passing, the world dimmed with the loss of Patricia on November 24, 2025. Their journey together included unforgettable moments—a highlight being their travels to Peru in his 70s, experiences that enriched their lives and deepened their connection.

Earl was a man of many interests; he had a gentle soul reflected in his love for fishing and painting. His passion for music was beautifully showcased as he sang in a traveling choir, bringing joy to himself and others. Earl was known for his wisdom and quiet demeanor, a steadfast presence who always had an open home to those in need. He truly embodied the spirit of servitude, making him a pillar in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Earl’s family takes comfort in their cherished memories of him. He is survived by his son, John Stokes; his treasured granddaughter, Rachel Tucci; and his grandson, Matt Stokes. Additionally, he leaves behind seven great-grandchildren who will carry forth his legacy of love and kindness. Earl now joins his beloved wife Patricia, along with his parents, Earl Allen Stokes, Sr. and Ella Fair (King) Stokes, in eternal peace.
