Francis Eileen Raines
April 1, 1944 – May 7, 2026
With deep sorrow and immense love, we announce the passing of Francis Eileen Raines, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, who went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born in Superior, Wyoming, on April 1, 1944, Francis lived a life centered around faith, family, kindness, and love. She was the heart of her home and the kind of woman who made everyone feel welcome the moment they walked through the door. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or a comforting hug, Francis showed her love through caring for others.
Francis shared a beautiful love story with her husband and high school sweetheart, Edward Eugene Raines. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, faith, and family over 64 years of marriage. They traveled together, camped together, raised a family together, and grew old side by side — a lasting example of devotion and commitment to everyone who knew them.
She was the proud mother of Teresa Rodgers and Cathy Lindbloom, and a loving mother-in-law to Steve Lindbloom. She was a deeply cherished grandmother to Scott Summers, Crissy Kinley, and Steven Lindbloom, as well as a treasured great-grandmother whose love will continue to live on through generations.
Family was everything to Francis. Some of the most treasured memories were made during camping trips, drives through the mountains, days at the lake, and family gatherings where laughter was always present and nobody ever left hungry. Her fried chicken became legendary among those who knew her, especially on trips to the Big Horns and family outings. She was also known for her homemade candy, incredible cooking, and the way she could make ordinary moments feel special.
Francis had a gift for creating beauty with her hands and love with her heart. She loved sewing and spent countless hours making clothes for her children and grandchildren, including matching dresses that became treasured childhood memories. For many years, she lovingly made homemade blankets for family members at Christmas, often spending the entire year working on them one stitch at a time. Those gifts were more than blankets — they were pieces of her love sewn into every thread.
Christmas at Grandma’s house was magical. Francis poured her heart into making the holidays unforgettable for her family, creating memories that her children and grandchildren will carry forever. Her warmth, joy, and ability to make people feel safe and loved made her the center of so many cherished moments.
Her faith in God guided her life. Francis believed deeply in kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and caring for people when they were hurting. She had a tender heart and was always there to comfort others through difficult times. She loved deeply, gave freely, and carried herself with quiet strength and grace.
Francis leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, and selfless care for others. Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find peace in knowing she is reunited once again with the love of her life, Ed, and resting in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served.
Her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
