Fredrick Wayne Reichel

Fredrick “Fred” Wayne Reichel, 77, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Fred was born on November 4, 1948, in Powell, Wyoming, to Paul Reichel and Inez McLester. He was a lifelong Wyoming resident and loved his home state and all it had to offer. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors.

Fred proudly served his country as a Combat Medic in the United States Army during the height of the Vietnam War. For his service and actions in saving lives, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with five Bronze Service Stars. He completed his service at Fort Carson, Colorado.

After returning home from the Army, Fred spent many years working in the drywall business alongside his brothers-in-law. He was a hard worker who took pride in what he did. His family will always remember him coming home after a long day of work covered from head to toe in paint and drywall - a sight that could only make you smile.

To know Fred was to know a gentle giant. He was a hardworking, generous, and deeply loving man who had a way of making people feel cared for. He gave of himself freely, opened his heart and home to many, and made sure the people around him knew they were loved. That was simply who Fred was.

In 1969, Fred married Dora (Baxter), and together they built a life filled with 58 years of marriage, memories, and family. They raised two daughters, Laurie and Jeanette, and watched their family grow through the years.

There was no role Fred cherished more than being a grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he took great pride in each of them. Family was the most important thing in Fred’s life, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did.

Fred is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dora; his devoted daughters, Laurie and Jeanette; his treasured grandchildren, Amber (Joe), Samantha, Paul, and James; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Lorenzo, Bentley, Autumn, Carter, Tanner, and Sol.

He is also survived by his sister, Jenny and Pauline, as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Inez; his brother, James; and his sister, Vicky.

Fred touched many lives throughout his 77 years. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the family and friends who were fortunate enough to call him theirs.

Memorial Service is scheduled from 11 am - 2 pm at Good News Church, 318 W. B Street, Casper, WY 82601. Lunch will be provided.
