Listen to Obituary

George Robert “Bob” Williams, lovingly known as “BoBo,” passed away on June 26, 2026, while in the tender care of family and friends in France. He was born on February 22, 1945, in Hayden, Routt County, Colorado, to the late George E. Williams and the late Marguarite Snell (formerly Williams, née Sadvar).

Bob was fond of the many family roles he held throughout his life: husband, father, son, brother, brother‑in‑law, uncle, great‑uncle, great‑great uncle, grandfather, great‑grandfather, nephew, and cousin. He attended elementary school in Rifle, Colorado, and continued his middle and high school education in Casper, Wyoming.

He honorably served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968, attaining the rank of Specialist Five (SP5). BoBo continued his service to fellow veterans with continuous devotion through the local Casper Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and VFW Post #9439, holding office faithfully until the time of his passing. In this honored capacity, he assisted veterans in applying for disability benefits and proudly represented the Post during naturalization ceremonies, standing witness as new citizens took their oath.

While stationed in France, he met the love of his life, Regine Lucie Henriette Bolbienon. They married on July 17, 1965, in Troyes, Aube, France. Shortly thereafter, Bob reported for duty in Vietnam, serving his country with honor before returning to Casper, where he and Regine built a warm and welcoming home rooted in family and community.

Bob later retired from a long and dedicated career with American Greetings. Sending cards for every special occasion became a beloved tradition for him and Regine. Those who knew the iconic franchises era fondly remember Ziggy, Holly Hobby, Care Bears, and Strawberry Shortcake making their way into countless mailboxes, always followed by Bob’s appreciation for a heartfelt “thank you” in return.

A devoted Mason for 44 years, George Robert “Bobo” Williams was initiated as an Entered Apprentice and passed to the degree of Fellowcraft in Independence Rock Lodge No. 56, A.F. & A.M of Wyoming on March 1, 1982. He was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on March 29, 1982. He was a deeply committed and highly active member of his Lodge, working his way through the progressive officer line and served with distinction as Worshipful Master of Independence Rock Lodge No. 56 during the 1987–1988 Masonic year. Following his tenure in the East, his dedication to the Craft never wavered. He continued to support his Lodge faithfully as Chaplain for many years and as the head proficiency coach for candidates and prospective members until his passing. He also held plural membership with Wind River Lodge No. 25.

BoBo’s dedication and profound impact extended deeply into the York Rite, where he took his Chapter, Council, and Commandery degrees on April 17, 1990. He served as Excellent High Priest of Capitol Chapter No. 8, Royal Arch Masons; Illustrious Master of Wyoming Council No. 1, Royal and Select Masters of Wyoming; and Eminent Commander of Apollo Commandery No. 8, Grand Commandery of Wyoming, in Casper, WY. He was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Sheridan Valley, of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Orient of Wyoming.

His fraternal service continued through the Shrine. Inducted on May 28, 1982, BoBo was a proud member of Korein Temple Shrine, serving as Temple Chaplain for Wyoming’s southern jurisdiction. He was deeply committed to fundraising for Shriners Hospitals for Children and served locally as President of both the Casper Shrine Club and the Calliope Clown Unit. To his fraternal brothers, he was known simply as a “True Brother”, one who loved every role he held and cherished the bonds of brotherhood as family.

Bob’s personality was a blend of quick wit, generosity, and steadfast political opinions. He checked in on friends and loved ones often, rallying the “calvary” if he didn’t hear back soon enough. As one close friend shared, “He wanted to be gruff, but he was a pussy cat.” His love for others was genuine, and he delighted in serving his community, especially during Christmas and Easter, when he watched children visit Santa or the Easter Bunny at Shrine Club events.

He enjoyed football, local theater, fishing, and savoring life’s finer tastes: fresh escargot, French champagne, French cheese, and a masterfully balanced cigar paired with a top-shelf single malt scotch with friends and family. He treasured celebrations at Pizza Ranch with great‑great‑nieces and nephews, always ensuring each child received a gift card for arcade games, pizza, while he enjoyed a plate full of fried chicken and mashed potatoes.

Traveling with Regine brought him great joy, especially their annual trips to Wendover, Nevada, to reunite with old friends. He often joked that he “never won but never lost either.”

Bob ended every communication with those he loved with a single word that captured his heart: “Mostest.” So, here we are ❤️.
