George Lester Jacobson, 79, of Casper, Wyoming, died Thursday, July 10, 2025.
George was born, the third of three sons, to George Lester Jacobson and Goldie Violet (Bull) Jacobson in Worland, Wyoming on January 8, 1946. He graduated from high school in Lander, Wyoming, where he was a good student and excelled in football and wrestling. George also was a proficient bareback rider, rodeo clown, and a pretty fair snooker player.
Immediately after high school, George was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965. He served in the CORPS of Engineers in Viet Nam, where he was a victim of the Army’s use of the neurotoxin agent orange, which affected his health and well-being—and that of thousands of other ground soldiers—for the rest of his life.
Returning to Wyoming, George married and ranched and worked construction. He enjoyed attending his kids’ games and rodeo events. Many contented weeks he spent camping and hiking in the Big Horn and Wind River mountains. To be close to his beloved Big Horns, George lived in Sheridan prior to moving to Casper in the 1990s.
George is survived by his brothers Andy and Carl, his children Heather and Emile, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother John.
