George W. Lesino, of Casper, WY, born June 6, 1947, and died June 20, 2025, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pamela Lesino. George was from Cedar Grove, NJ. He attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ.
After college, he enjoyed a carefree life being a boatman in the Grand Canyon, mountain climbing and exploring the many mountains in California, Montana and Wyoming. He also spent several winters working for his family confectionery business in Tequesta, FL.
He worked for many companies, including Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY; Ling-Temco-Vought in Dallas, TX; Lockheed Missile and Space Company in Sunnyvale, CA; Boeing in Wichita, KS; New Mexico Community College in Espanola, NM; and China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center in China Lake, CA.
While teaching electrical engineering in Espanola, NM, he met the love of his life, Pamela, and they moved to China Lake, which was a dream job to culminate his various defense industry experiences.
While at China Lake, he worked as a systems engineer, integrating and testing numerous weapon systems on the AV-8B and F/A-18 fighter jets for the Navy. He also took great pride in working as the Foreign Military Sales Engineer with the German Luftwaffe and the Swiss Air Force.
During their twenty years in California, George and Pam loved visiting with his cousin Karen Smith and her sons, Kelly, Kris, and Kacey. The cousins loved visiting George and Pam in China Lake to play at Death Valley, Sierra Nevada mountains, the Mojave Desert and Searles Lake mud flats for crystal hunting. After retirement from China Lake, George and Pam took great pride in helping his parents, aunts, and uncles in their final ten years in the West Palm Beach area of Florida.
George and Pam moved to Casper, WY in 2013 from Florida. George particularly enjoyed attending OLLI classes at the Casper Community College, participating in the Foreign Relations group, and exploring the Wyoming mountains and parks with close friends. His wife Pamela is an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Casper, WY, and George was very supportive of her volunteer work with the church. They enjoyed walking Romeo, their St. Bernard, daily at Edness Wilkins State Park.
George is survived by his wife, Pamela, and his two cousins, Karen Smith of West Hills, CA, and her sons, Kelly (Darby), Kris (Randi), and Kacey (Sami), and Robert Lesino and his daughter Kristen (Rocco) of Washington, DC; his sister-in-law, Katie Benson (Greg) and their daughter Michelle (Ronnie) and son of Albuquerque, NM; and his nieces-in-law, Kristie Keeney (Dave) and their two daughters of Seattle, WA, and Laurie Miller and her children of Everett, WA.
A celebration of life is planned in September with a memorial service at St. Mark’s.
