Georgene was born on August 16, 1945, in St. Paul, Minnesota to George G. Hansen and Margaret B. (Staal) Hansen and was welcomed home by two older sisters Phyllis and Carol. When she was young her family moved to Wyoming, where her youngest sister Margaret was born. Georgene grew up in Sinclair, Wyoming attending Sinclair Elementary School and Rawlins Junior High School, and graduating from Rawlins High School in 1963.

While Georgene was in high school, she worked at the Parco Inn in Sinclair, Wyoming. This is where she met the love of her life, Jay F. Figg. After Georgene graduated from high school she moved to Denver, Colorado to attend and later graduate from Parks Business School. Jay followed her to Denver, and they dated and later got married on September 24, 1966. They called Denver their home for many years and on November 18, 1968, they welcomed the birth of their daughter Rebekah (Becky). Georgene and Jay moved back to Wyoming and lived in Sinclair and finally made Rawlins their home.

Those who knew Georgene knew her as a strong lady who was always there for any of her family and friends, when they needed her. She will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Jay F. Figg, her daughter Becky (Miles) Slater; her grandchildren, Kaleb (Darcy) Willis, Tysha Riley (fiancé Danny Zimmerman), Mercedes Morgan (boyfriend Sam Flinner); her great-grandchildren, Talion Riley (girlfriend Rosie Lopez), Landion Morgan, Paisley Halacy, Keenan Riley, Hadlee Halacy, Baelin Halacy, Owen Riley, Zoey Zimmerman, Payge Willis, Averee Willis, Austin Fender, Charles Fender, Amber Costalez, Octavia Costalez (boyfriend William Fields), Destiny Costalez, Samson Costalez, Mark Flinner, Lilly Flinner, Sammy Flinner; her great-great grandson Zayd French; her sister P.
