Gerradean Forster, a beacon of warmth and love, was born on December 1, 1937, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She departed this world on September 2, 2024, in Casper, Wyoming, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories that will comfort her loved ones during this time of profound loss.
Raised with the values of kindness and community spirit, Gerradean graduated from Glenrock High School in 1956, where her smile and infectious giggle first captured the hearts of many. Over the course of her life, she embraced a career that spanned several exciting roles. Starting at Mountain Bell, she dedicated 13 years of her life to the company before transitioning to hotel management, where she spent the next decade honing her skills in service. Together with her beloved husband, Neal, Gerradean managed Quail Run Inc., marking the culmination of their professional journey before retirement.
But it was not her career accomplishments that defined Gerradean; rather, it was her incredible capacity for love and nurturing. She possessed a heart as vast as the blue sky above, always ready to offer shelter and comfort to those in need. Gerradean was a devoted mother and grandmother, pouring her affections into her children, Gary Forster, Cindy Pollock, Bill (Kathy) Pollock, and Jim (Beanie) Forster, and embracing her eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren with open arms. The family cherishes every joyful and tender memory shared with her, each one a vibrant thread woven into the fabric of their lives.
Gerradean’s spirit resonated beyond her close family, extending into the community where she made her mark. She was an active member of the Eagles Lodge and the Elks Lodge, where her delightful laughter echoed among friends. Every interaction was layered with sincerity and warmth, reflecting the very essence of the woman she was—someone who never turned anyone away, always ready to provide care and a loving home to those around her.
Gerradean’s passing came quietly and peacefully, as she succumbed to natural causes at the Wyoming Medical Center, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life. She now joins the embrace of loved ones who departed before her: her cherished husband of 45 years, Neal Forster; her dear parents, Dan and Inez; sisters, Francis Harms and Norma Mlynek; brothers, Dan “Sonny” and Ron Handley; and three grandsons, all of whom profoundly impacted her heart.
In this time of reflection, those who remain—her brother Bob Handley, brother-in-law Alan (Sharron) Forster, and her children—are left with the indelible imprint of her love, laughter, and remarkable spirit. Gerradean Forster, may your legacy of kindness, strength, and generosity continue to inspire and uplift all those you touched during your beautiful journey on Earth.
