Listen to Obituary

Henry Dean McDaniel Jr., 69, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Born on September 22, 1956, Henry Dean was a man whose presence could never be forgotten. He was known for his warm heart, his love for people, and the simple joys in life that brought him happiness every single day.

Henry Dean was the kind of person who could make a conversation with anyone. During his years driving cab, he truly enjoyed meeting different people, hearing their stories, and taking drives all around town. He never met a stranger, and many people who crossed paths with him became lifelong friends.

As a young man in school, Henry Dean especially loved woodshop, where he enjoyed building and creating with his hands. Throughout his life, he found joy in the little things — shooting dice, going to the casino, spending time with family and friends, and riding around town listening to music with a cigarette in one hand and an ice-cold Pepsi nearby. Those moments were where Henry Dean felt most at peace and most himself.

More than anything, Henry Dean loved being around the people he cared about. His laughter, stories, and familiar presence will leave a space in the hearts of those who loved him that can never truly be filled. One of his greatest joys was the playful back-and-forth and good-hearted “arguments” he shared with his great niece, Omiah Edwards, which always brought a smile and laughter to those around them.

Henry Dean leaves behind his sisters, Barbara Ann Jackson of Ohio and Linda Kay Williams of Compton,California; his brother, Alvin Ray Jones Sr. of Rock Springs, Wyoming; his favorite niece, Dacia Edwards; Jody Clark and her children, all of Casper, Wyoming; along with a host of other family members and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Dean McDaniel Sr.; his mother, Oneida (Ghoston) Clark; his stepfather, Henry Royer Clark; and his sisters, Ellen Emmanuel and Ranells McDaniel.

Though Henry Dean may no longer be riding through town with music playing and a cold Pepsi in hand, his spirit, memories, and love will continue to ride alongside all who knew him.

At the family’s request, services will be held at a later date.
