Homer El Ray Whitlock, 85, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born to parents, Homer Clifford Whitlock and Ruby Elizabeth Denison, in Sterling, Utah. He was raised in Bingham Canyon and Lark, Utah later moving to Sandy, Utah. He graduated from Bingham High School in 1958. He met Adele Paulsen dragging State Street in Salt Lake City, and they married on December 8,1959 in Wells, Nevada. They moved often with his employment with IRECO and Gulf including Eagle Mountain, California, Tucson, Arizona, Ishpeming, Michigan, Perth, Western Australia, and Elon College, North Carolina before settling in Casper, Wyoming in 1977.

Homer and Adele raised six children: Beverly Lorimer (Dean), Warren Clifford Whitlock (Cindy), Paul Norman Whitlock (Janelle), Katrina Snyder, William Roland Whitlock (Tina) and Nathan El Ray Whitlock (Amy). They have 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Homer is survived by his wife, children, one brother, Robert Whitlock, and two sisters, Betty Whitlock and Shanna Blackburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Warren Whitlock and Howard Whitlock, and sister Anna Marie Whitlock.

Homer was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in various callings and was sealed to his wife and children in the Mesa, Arizona temple on June 3, 1967.

Homer loved trains and was a member of the Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association. His son, Paul, set up a youtube channel featuring his videos of trains that can be viewed at Homer’s Awe De See. He loved Wyoming with its great hunting, fishing, and wide-open spaces. He loved people and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a hard worker and taught his children to work hard and to video everyone working with stop action fast speed, so it looked fun! He was very proud of his kids, grand-kids, and great-grandkids. He loved to see and hear about their many accomplishments.

Services will be held at on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1075 Morado Drive, Casper, Wyoming. Viewing will be in the Relief Society Room from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
