James dedicated much of his professional life to serving the community, contributing his talents at Burback, the Chicken Coop, the Cottage Cafe, and the Casper Star Tribune. His work ethic was admirable, but it was his vibrant personality and spunky humor that truly left an impression on those fortunate enough to know him. He had a unique ability to uplift the spirits of those around him, bringing joy and laughter into their lives.

His educational journey began in Thermopolis, Wyoming, where he was instilled with a sense of determination and creativity that would guide him throughout his life. James was a devoted family man who cherished his role as a father. He enjoyed mountain adventures and rock hunting with his six children, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and adventure. His deep involvement in their lives extended to actively participating in their sports and extracurricular activities, including being an enthusiastic coach for their basketball teams. He found joy in midget football, Boy Scouts, Taekwondo, softball, BMX, and figure skating, demonstrating his unwavering support and commitment to their growth.

In his later years, James developed a strong passion for Pit Bull rescue, showing his compassion for animals and his desire to make a difference. He was also a car enthusiast and enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, hobbies that reflected his playful spirit.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Annell Louise Butz, and his six children: Tessie Howard, Casiya Grant, Heather Grant, Amber Salinas, Joseph Grant, and James Grant. He is further survived by his siblings: Marlene Wyatt, Troy Grant, Trent Grant, Norman Grant, and Kevin Grant, along with numerous grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.

James was preceded in death by his parents and one infant child. His proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family, who will continue to carry forward the values he instilled in them. As they remember his humorous spirit and utmost dedication to family, they find solace in the memories they shared, knowing that he will always be a part of their lives.
