James “Jim” Clinton Lembke, 67, of Casper, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, following a lengthy illness. He left behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet compassion. Known for his towering presence and even bigger heart, Jim was a man who made everyone feel welcome and at ease.
He was born on June 13, 1957 to Clinton Lembke and Evelyn Whalen Lembke in White Plains, New York. He always shared wonderful stories of growing up in Yorktown Heights, New York with his four siblings, three sisters and finally getting a brother at the age of 12. He enjoyed playing in the woods, down by the railroad tracks and the ponds. While in high school he worked at Jack in the Box, making lifelong friends. The day after graduation he enlisted into the United States Army, very proud to be a member of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Jim moved to Wyoming for the summer in 1981, living here for 44 years. Learning the trade of commercial roofing at Pancratz Roofing Company. He was known by his buddies as “Big Jim.” He spent the majority of his career working with his many friends at Limmer Roofing Company.
He was a devoted father to three beloved children: Clinton who carries on Jim's strong work ethic, Ian who reflects his goofy and joyful sense of humor and Jill who inherits his deep kindness and gentle spirit. Jim had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats, who always seemed to know they'd found a true friendin him. He believed in treating all living beings with patience and care and belief radiated through everything he did. Whether through a quiet gesture, a heartfelt laugh, or a shared moment with a pet curled at his feet, Jim's love made a lasting impact on those who knew him. He will be remembered as a steady, loving presence – husband, father, brother and friend, a man who left this world better than he found it. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
