James Edward Martinez

Beloved James Edward Martinez, 72 years old, passed away Friday June 20, 2025

He was born February 18, 1953 to John and Faye Martinez, in Seattle, Washington. He was married to the late Susan Barnes for 26 years. They lived together in Mesquite, Texas, before he relocated to Casper, Wyoming to live with his daughter Denise Yaw.

James was a devoted musician who loved playing his bass. He spent a lot of time playing in shows over the years with many bands. He adored his and Susan's fur babies that they cared for throughout their marriage. He was very protective over his family.

James would attend Calvary Baptist Church, and occasionally go out to watch bands. He was working towards creating a band of his own to play in shows again.

James is survived by five children: Denise Yaw, of Casper, Wyoming; Carmen Courter, of St. Paul, Minnesota; Jesse Boner, of Ephrata, Washington; Amanda Ridgeway, of Stanwood, Washington; and James Martinez, of El Paso, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his sister Lisa Martinez and brother Brian Martinez.
