Jane Marie Murrell

Jane Marie Murrell, 72, passed away on June 15, 2026, after a battle with leukemia. Born in Newcastle, Wyoming on March 16, 1954, to James and Annabelle Lee Griffey, she grew up in Casper Wyoming.

Jane was an avid seamstress who enjoyed creating items and gifting them to friends and family. She knitted hats and donated them to children through various charities. Her cooking skills were extraordinary, and many stated her lemon curd was scrumptious.

Jane was known for her kind heart and generosity. Jane’s fundamental focus was her sons and provided them with a beautiful and comfortable home.

She is survived by her son James (Jimmy) and Michael Carter, three grandchildren, two nieces; sisters, Julia (Bill) Spicer and Nancy Mallory. Jane was proceeded in death by her parents, spouses, Lee Murrell and Michael Carter and son, Jesse Carter, and her siblings Carol Stokes and Danny Griffey.

Jane’s family is very grateful for the excellent care she received at Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions.

Cremation arrangements have been made and no services will be held at this time.
