She was born on May 20, 1987, in Phoenix, Arizona to Susan Talafous and John Contreras. Jody blessed this world with her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family.
A devoted stay-at-home mother, Jody cared for her four beloved children: Blake, Aideen, Baldr, and Raven. She poured her heart and soul into her family, nurturing and supporting them through every stage of life. Her husband, Aren Cobia, was her partner in all things, their beautiful journey together beginning at a bus stop in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It was there, as they often crossed paths on grocery shopping trips, that Aren mustered the courage to ask Jody on a date—a moment that blossomed into ten wonderful years of marriage filled with shared adventures and unparalleled joy.
Jody’s playful personality shone brightly through her mildly laidback demeanor and ever-present wit. Always ready for a good-natured spar with her children, she had an unparalleled talent for bringing laughter into ordinary moments, leaving an imprint of joy wherever she went. Her love for the great outdoors was evident in her cherished memories of walking through Vedavuu Park and enjoying the serene beauty at Casper's Rotary Park Falls. Jody found solace in nature, whether it was camping under a starlit sky or fishing with her husband, creating lasting bonds through these shared experiences.
A proud graduate of Prima Vera High School in Phoenix, Arizona, Jody embraced her creativity with passion. She found joy in making candles, soap, and bath bombs, weaving warmth and light into the lives of those around her. Her hobbies blossomed into not just crafts, but heartfelt gifts for family and friends that spoke to her caring nature.
Jody is survived by her loving husband Aren, her four children, Blake (12), Aideen (8), Baldr (7), and Raven (2) her father John Contreras, and her brother John Contreras. They carry her spirit forward, each step resonating with her teachings of love, humor, and resilience. Jody’s legacy is also marked by the profound loss of her mother, Susan Talafous, and her grandmother, who now welcome her with open arms.
In our hearts and memories, Kira will always be remembered as a beacon of compassion and joy. Her laughter, kindness, and indomitable spirit have left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved her.
