John Quincy Adams, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 19, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 75. He was born on October 9, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Charles and Eleanor Adams. John was a man of remarkable character and strength.
John dedicated nine years of his life working underground uranium for Kerr McGee, before spending nineteen years with NARM. He closed out his professional journey with Exterran Corporation, where he was recognized as a great equipment operator and mechanic. His commitment to hard work was evident throughout his career, a trait he instilled in those around him.
Much more than his professional accomplishments, John was cherished for his engaging personality and big heart. He had a special way of making everyone feel loved and valued. He was easygoing and approachable, traits that made him a joy to be around. John had a fondness for simple pleasures; he loved to have a cold beer, a little shot, and enjoyed a cigarette while sharing warm memories with family and friends. His children will always hold dear the affectionate nicknames "Ole Pal" and "Little Meg". He loved Jury, his son's dog.
John enjoyed spending time in the mountains. He found peace in fishing and hunting, and beloved pastimes included tinkering on hot rods. His love for horses, old trucks, and the outdoors was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and appreciation for the rich, rugged beauty of life.
He leaves behind his cherished children, Matthew John Adams, Megan Joy Vigil, and three other sons who were adopted away at a young age; his grandchildren, Andraia Adams, Taiya Vigil, Ashlynn Adams, Mariah Vigil, Everlee Adams, and one other grandson, as well as two great grandsons, Easton Faunce and Kaysen Faunce. John's legacy will continue through his family, who will remember his laughter, kindness and unwavering love.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eleanor Adams, his brother, Don Pat Adams, and his sister, Sharla Sue Adams. Their spirits will surely welcome him as he journeys home to be with his Lord and Savior.
In this time of sorrow, those who knew and loved John Quincy Adams will carry his memory in their hearts, celebrating the joy he brought into their lives with fond reminiscences and a deep sense of gratitude for the time they shared.
