John Lewis Dampman Jr., born on July 31, 1947, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 1, 2025 in Casper, Wyoming. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose legacy will remain in the hearts of many.

John graduated from Twin Valley High School in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, in 1965. He began his career immediately afterward at Bethlehem Steel in Pennsylvania. Following the closure of Bethlehem Steel, John took on a new challenge and was recruited to work at the Exon Highland Uranium Mine in Wyoming for four years. He later went on to become a Master Mechanic at the Dave Johnston Power Plant, where he dedicated much of his professional life until his retirement.

In retirement, John found joy in mowing the lawns at Glenrock Golf Course and cherished his time spent at Glendo Lake. He embraced the lake life, often teaching his family how to water ski and carting around with his four-legged friend.

John was known for his easy-going personality and friendly demeanor. He had a gift for making conversations light and easy, allowing him to connect with many people throughout his life. He enjoyed visiting friends at the 4 Ace's and sharing his favorite beverage, Miller Lite. He was also an avid participant in the Annual PP&L Walleye Fishing Derby.

His pride extended beyond his hobbies and into his personal life. John was esteemed to have earned his Pioneer Fishing License, proudly referring to himself as a true Wyomingite. He held in high regard his family achievements, including the purchase of his first car, a brand-new black convertible Corvette.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Dampman; his daughter, Calene Price; his sister, Jacquelyn Demediuk; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored him. John was undoubtedly the favorite uncle to many, which speaks volumes about the affection he cultivated within his family.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Dampman; siblings Ed Hertzler, Florence (Sis) Hertzler, and Ralph (Mo) Dampman; his sons George Dampman and Mike Everhart; and his previous spouse, Elaine Dampman.
