John S. “Jack” “Top Hat” “Red” Lynch Sr.

John S. Lynch Sr., lovingly known by many as Jack, Top Hat, and Red, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 66, surrounded by his family.

John was born on December 21, 1959 in Riverton Wy From a young age, he understood the value of hard work. He held many different jobs while growing up and later earned his GED through determination and perseverance. He worked in convenience stores for many years, where his friendly personality, quick wit, and genuine kindness brought smiles to countless customers. Later, he co-founded Chrome Dome Cleaners with his friend Mike Pond before continuing his career with JW Williams. Following a motorcycle accident in 2015, John retired from full-time work.

Retirement didn’t slow him down—it allowed him to focus on what mattered most to him which was family. He spent his time cleaning up his community, building projects, traveling, and making memories with family and friends. One of his greatest acts of love was spending four years caring for his mother, Velma, in Basin until her passing. John had a passion for motorcycles he was a member of A.B.A.T.E motorcycle Organization for many years. Motorcycles and tattoos were a big part of his life which he often called his therapy. He loved going to Sturgis motorcycle Rally, he loved music ,going to concerts, comedy shows, car shows and Drag races. He especially enjoyed watching his oldest son, Sheldon, compete in dirt track racing. Above all, John had a generous heart. If someone needed help, he was always there, ready to lend a hand in any way he could.

His kindness, humor, and willingness to help others will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to know him.

John was preceded in death by his parents, George Lynch and Velma Weeks (Slim Weeks); his brother, Rick; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his former wife, Doreen Lynch; his sons, John Lynch Jr. (Raylee) of Gillette and Sean Lynch of Casper; his grandchildren, Rayshawn (Brynn), Jared, Lana, Jackson, Jordan, and Shaelynn; and his great-granddaughter, Avina Doyle. He is also survived by his sisters, Patsy, Karen, Deb, Becky, Mary, and Brenda; his brothers, Kenny and Joe; as well as many bonus children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives he touched.

John’s legacy is one of hard work, compassion, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and community. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in every ride taken, every helping hand offered, and every smile shared in his honor.
