Joyce Elaine Ripperger

Joyce Elaine Ripperger, 89, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Joyce Elaine Ripperger was born December 25, 1936 to William & Florence (Benge) Hammer in St. Joseph, Iowa.

She graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic High School in 1954. On April 17, 1956, she married Charles Ripperger at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joe, Iowa.

She worked as a Long Distance Telephone Operator in Ft. Dodge, Iowa from 1954-1958. The couple then moved to Casper, Wyoming. They became the parents of six children.

She worked as a secretary in the oilfield from 1975-1985 to help pay for their children's college educations. From 1990 to 2006 she worked at Wyoming Medical Center doing secretarial work & watching heart monitors. From 2007-2009 she worked as a receptionist at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home.

She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish since 1958, where she has been the Altar and Rosary President, the director of Religious Education for Jr. and Sr. High, and the Casper Bishops Guild President.

She is survived by her children, Cathy (Neal) Kebert, Cindy (David) Evans, Connie (Larry) Traywick, Father Chad Ripperger, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Charles Ripperger Sr., two sons, Charles Anthony Ripperger Jr., and Craig Allan Ripperger, her parents, William and Florence Hammer, her twin sister, Janet Rustemier, and brothers, Darwin, Richard, Herb and David Hammer. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 5pm until 7pm with a Rosary beginning at 7pm. A Private Funeral Service will be held at a later date with interment at Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
