Julia May Jones-Mason, 80, of Casper, WY, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026. Born on October 8, 1945, in Leoti, KS, she was the child of Robert and Violet June.
In 1988, she changed her path from being a teacher’s aide at Shoshoni Schools to graduating at the top of her class from Central Wyoming College's Nursing program in 1990, and then worked as a nurse at Wyoming Medical Center and Niobrara Community Hospital.
Julia married Ralph Jones in 1967; together they had two children. She remarried in 1994 to Harold Mason. Survived by her son, Kevin Jones, his wife Jill, and her sons, Morgan and Seth Felbeck; her son, Charles Jones, and his partner, Harold Robbins; sisters, Linda Norman and Patricia Meilleur; her beloved cat, Simba; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Deborah and Sandra, her brother, Robert, and her husbands. She loved her family.
She was an avid crafter, including sewing, crocheting, and making cards, creating countless gifts for the people she loved.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 24, 2026, time to be announced shortly at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Casper, WY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Casper Humane Society in Julia's memory.
