Karen Lucille Fraser, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at Mountain View Plaza in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 15, 1943, in Sheridan, Wyoming, Karen lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and an enduring commitment to her family and her career.
Karen’s journey began in Kaycee, Wyoming where she was raised and nurtured by her parents, Alton and Arthenia Lund. She attributed her work ethic to her childhood spent working on the family ranch, alongside her father. She began her education in a one room schoolhouse with her mom as her teacher. After she graduated from Kaycee High School, she went on to obtain her Registered Nursing License at the University of Wyoming. This achievement set the foundation for a lifelong vocation in nursing, a field in which she thrived and made a profound impact.
Throughout her career, Karen served as a Registered Nurse with distinction. She devoted half of her professional life to the Veterans Association Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming, where she specialized as a Psychiatric Nurse. Following this important chapter, she concluded her career at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, bringing comfort and expert care to many. Her work was marked by empathy and professionalism, reflecting her loving and caring nature that extended beyond the bedside into every aspect of her life.
Karen was much more than a dedicated nurse; she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her family deeply, considering her proudest accomplishments to be her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Bob Fraser. Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Julianne Krenzelok; her son, Alton Krenzelok, and his wife, Jill; grandchildren Jenna Krenzelok, Zebulun Clark, and Zoe McNeil; great-grandson Sebastian Clark; her sister Mary Sanders and her husband, Bob; and niece Megan Coster and her children, Elijah, Isaiah, and TJ; stepsisters, Sharon Dooley (children Rhondasue Beeson and Lynn Dooley), and Brenda Davis (children Shawna Dereemer, Michael Palmer, and Forest Davis.
Known for her warm heart and generous spirit, Karen had a zest for life and a love for simple joys. She delighted in cooking and baking, often sharing these culinary creations with family and friends. Her affinity for antiques spoke to her appreciation for history and beauty, while her passion for gardening—both vegetables and flowers—nurtured life and growth in her home and surroundings.
Karen’s legacy is one of unwavering love, care, and provision for those around her. Her presence brought comfort and strength to her family and her patients alike. She will be fondly remembered for her devotion, her kindness, and the lasting mark she left on all who knew her.
The family extends thanks to all who offered their support and love during her final days. Karen Lucille Fraser’s memory will forever be a blessing to those whose lives she touched.
