Karina Elise Boyer

Karina Elise Boyer, born August 16, 1993, in Casper, Wyoming, passed away quietly in her sleep on June 15, 2025, at the age of 31. She was the beloved daughter of Katy Boyer and John Von Osterheldt, and a cherished sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend to many. 

Karina spent her childhood between Wyoming and Colorado. She began school at Dos Rios Elementary in Greeley, CO, before returning to Casper at age six, where she continued her education at University Park Elementary, Centennial Junior High, and Kelly Walsh High School. 

Karina found the love of her life at age 10, when she adopted a tiny Chiweenie she affectionately named Libby — a name inspired by an episode of CSI. Karina and Libby were inseparable for 18 years, sharing life’s joys and sorrows as true soulmates. 

At age 9, when her father, John married Rebecca, Karina got something she wanted her whole life - a sibling and she became a proud big sister to Claire and Jack. Later, her mother Katy married Todd Wiseman, and Karina welcomed two more siblings — Havilah and Danner — into her open and loving heart. She cherished her siblings deeply, encouraging them in their dreams, comforting them in struggles, and celebrating who they were becoming.

 After graduating high school, Karina spent time with each set of grandparents before settling in Fort Collins, Colorado. There, she made her home for 10 years and found joy in community, friendship, and meaningful work. Her favorite job was at the Fort Collins Nursery, where her green thumb flourished and her nurturing spirit was perfectly at home among the plants she loved. She had a natural gift for cultivating life and beauty — in gardens and in people. 

Recently, Karina returned home to Casper to live with her beloved “Lello Papa” and take time to rest and heal. 

Karina was raised by a wide and devoted village — her upbringing brought her into contact with many people, perspectives, and cultures. She was deeply loved, and in return, she loved with her whole heart. She lived her life full-throttle and forged her own path. She felt joy and loss intensely and was resilient in every situation. 

She was passionate in her beliefs, bright, intelligent, loving, and fiercely creative. A free spirit with a sentimental soul, Karina was both artistic and warm, caring and freewheeling, always unapologetically herself. Family and friends often said she had a rare gift: when Karina saw you, you felt like you were her favorite person in the world. Her love for those in her life was fierce. 

Karina’s life will be celebrated with two events. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 400 Country Club Rd, Casper, WY. Any and all inclined are welcome to attend. 

Additionally, her friends and family will gather for a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the VFW, 1800 Bryan Stock Trail, Casper, Wyoming. All are welcome to come share memories and celebrate Karina’s life. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider planting a tree in Karina’s honor — a living tribute to her love of nature, her nurturing soul, and the life she lived so fully. If you would rather, please consider donating to the Humane Society or other animal shelter to honor Karina and her beloved Libby. 

Above all, love was her legacy — a legacy that lives on in every life she touched. 

She is preceded in death by her beloved Papa Earl Colman. She is survived by her parents, Katy Boyer Wiseman and John Von Osterheldt; her stepparents Rebecca Von Osterheldt and Todd Wiseman; her siblings Claire, Jack, Havilah, and Danner; her grandparents, “Lello Papa and Nana” Landis and Patty Boyer and her “Gigi” Dorothy Von Osterheldt Colman, as well as her many extended family members, friends, and loved ones.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at 11:00am, Monday, June 23, 2025 at VFW at 1800 Bryan Stock Trail in Casper, Wyoming
