Kenneth Robert Bunner, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 24th in the afternoon surrounded by his beloved wife, sister and children. His grandchildren also gathered around him through his peaceful rest.
Ken grew up in Riverton, Wyoming where he met his wife Linda Neil at 17. She jumped in his truck to catch a ride, little did he know that car ride would be the beginning of the 64 years spent together.
A life full of love from a very young age.
At his young age, he began his career as a mechanic and an adamant coffee drinker. He worked a number of years for Chevrolet Garage earning 6 awards including a custom plaque in the “Only The Best” club. From there he lived in New Castle, Wyoming continuing his career through to Midwest, Wyoming for many years before he moved to Bar Nunn, Wyoming. Where he started and ran his own business in Casper, Wyoming called Pride Auto for a decade. His friends would join enjoying unlimited amounts of coffee. After closing his business, he began working for the City of Casper until retirement.
He spent his retirement in the wilderness. Hunting record trophies with his sons, trekking through snow and mud. Camping and fishing were also joys of his life. As long as his family was there with him, he was happy terrorizing his grandchildren with worms that he had bit in half. Chasing them through the fishing lines he’d been protecting all day. While his children watched then giggled. His favorite part of the day was when he’d caught enough fish to cook his world famous Rainbow Trout and Potatoes in his dutch oven. The campfire never had an empty chair, from his first born to his last born grandchildren.
Ken was the man that his family relied on. He repaired his families cars, build their garages and mended their hearts. He provided his wife, children and grandchildren with an amazing life that lives on through his lineage. He was loved deeply and deeply loved. His family meant everything to him, as he meant everything to his family.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Michelle Palmer, two sons Lane and Randy Bunner. His grandchildren Tiffany McCann, Jesse Bunner, Alexis Palmer, Tessa Bunner and Laci Bunner. His great-grandchildren Jett and Isla Bunner. His one sister Doris Estes. He was preceded in death by parents and sister Mary Ellen McLain.
