Kenneth L. Tatro passed away January 19th from cardiorespiratory complications. Ken was born in Denver, Colorado on October 9th, 1952; to Jack and Doris (Korn) Tatro. He grew up in the area until the family moved to Casper, Wyoming. Ken attended schools in Casper and was a graduate of NCHS and attended University of Wyoming where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Geology. He worked in the uranium and petroleum fields. When this adventure was over, he worked for K-Mart and then in fast food and other service employment opportunities.
Ken later in life found the love of his life and married Tonya. They ventured to the Chicago, Illinois area where Tonya set up a restaurant and managed that business until her death. He assisted in the business and cared for his wife during her decline in health. Ken loved his grandchildren from this marriage and made an everlasting bond with them. Ken was an avid collector of fossils, rocks of interest, coins, stamps and music. He enjoyed his politics and loved a good argument.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Doris, grandparents, several aunts and uncles and cousins. He is survived by his sister Carol VanBuskirk (David) of Wisconsin, brothers Ronald of Wyoming and Robert (Robin) of Minnesota, and his grandchildren. Ken will be missed by all those who loved him and knew him. Ken was raised in the Lutheran Church and had his beliefs in God and Christ. A private service was held on July 29, 2025.
