Laverne Backhaus

Laverne Backhaus, 92, of Casper, Wy, passed on away on July 23rd, 2025. Laverne was born on March 5th, 1933, in Electra, TX. She moved to Casper in 1954, where she met and later married her beloved husband Jack. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and trusted Jesus as her Savior.

She is survived by her four children: Cyndee (her husband David), Michael (his wife June), Sharon (her husband Roger), Dan (his wife Sheri), her two sisters Margaret and Beverly; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, and three siblings.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, August 1st, from 9:30 am. to 10:30 am. at Newcomer Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery officiated by Pastor Jeff Matney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Calvary Baptist Church in Casper or Bible Baptist Church in Sidney, MT.
