Lawrence James Bruguier, lovingly known as Ljayy, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 22. He was born on July 16, 2003, in Pierre, South Dakota. Ljayy spent his early years in Mississippi before making his home in Casper, Wyoming, where he lived until the Lord called him home.
He attended the Pierre Indian Learning Center and later Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, where he made many lifelong friends. Ljayy had a passion for basketball, loved spending time with his friends and family, and was known for his contagious laughter and playful personality that could brighten any room.
A dedicated worker from a young age, Ljayy began working at just 14 years old at the Senior Center. His strong work ethic carried him through many jobs, including his last position on the oil rigs in North Dakota, a job he took great pride in. Although he survived a serious car accident, the injuries he sustained left him disabled. Ljayy faced ongoing medical challenges and seizures that resulted from the accident, yet he continued to show incredible strength, courage, and determination through it all. Even in his hardest days, he never lost his smile or his sense of humor, and he continued to bring light and laughter to everyone around him. His resilience and positive spirit inspired everyone who knew him.
Ljayy is survived by his mother and stepfather, his father, his brothers and sisters, and his beloved nephews, whom he adored being an uncle to. He also leaves behind countless friends and loved ones who will forever cherish his laughter, kindness, and the joy he brought to their lives. You will forever be loved by your family and friends.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
