Listen to Obituary

Lois Nina Haworth, 88, of Casper, Wyoming, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on June 26, 2026.

Born on April 23, 1938, in Omaha, Nebraska, Lois was the daughter of Louis and Edna Bexten. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Jefferson P. Haworth Sr., to whom she was married for 28 years before his passing, and her only sibling, her sister and lifelong best friend, Lauralee Bucher.

Lois devoted much of her life to caring for her family and serving others. She was a loving mother to her five children: Jerrilynn, Mark Sr., Jefferson Jr., Roy, and Michael. Her greatest joy was her family, and she was the kind of grandmother every child hopes to have—present, involved, encouraging, and always ready with a story, a hug, or a helping hand.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her 13 grandchildren: Lee, Seth, Rebecca, Mark Jr., Wesley, Jessica, Kandace, Arya, RJ, Michael Jr., John, Victoria, and Andrea; as well as 25 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

A faithful member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Casper, Lois touched countless lives through her servant's heart and genuine love for people. She was especially devoted to the children of her church, spending countless hours creating "busy bags" to bring comfort, entertainment, and joy to little ones during services. Her kindness, generosity, and dedication left a lasting impact on her church family.

In her later years, Lois was blessed with two extraordinary friendships. Alongside her beloved friends Terri and Norma, she found the kind of companionship most people only dream of having. The three were known as the "Three Musketeers," sharing laughter, encouragement, adventures, faith, and countless conversations. They stood by one another through life's highs and lows and formed a bond that became one of the great blessings of Lois's life. Though Terri passed before her, the love and friendship they shared remained close to Lois's heart and brought her immeasurable joy.

As a young woman, Lois loved ballet and cherished her time as a dancer. The grace, joy, and enthusiasm she brought to dancing reflected the spirit she carried throughout her life.

Lois had a gift for finding treasures wherever she went. She loved shopping, especially browsing thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales, and any place where a hidden gem might be waiting to be discovered. Yet the true treasures of her life were always the people she loved.

To know Lois was to know laughter, warmth, strength, and unwavering love. She was full of life, kindness, sass, determination, endurance, and independence. She could spend hours sharing stories of her children and grandchildren—their adventures, mischievous moments, life lessons, and accomplishments. Her eyes would light up whenever she talked about her family, and her love for them was evident in every story she told.

Though her family grieves her loss, they rejoice in a life well lived and a faith well kept. Lois leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at Hilltop Baptist Church in Casper, Wyoming, on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service.
