Lorraine Hendrickson

Lorraine Hendrickson, age 88, of Casper, Wyoming and former longtime Belle Fourche, South Dakota resident died Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Life Care Center in Casper.

Lydia Lorraine Kindsfater was born on February 11, 1937 in Belle Fourche, SD. She was the daughter of Alex and Lydia Kindsfater. She grew up on the family farm, walking distance from Belle Fourche.

Lorraine loved growing up and going to school in Belle Fourche. She was a proud member of the graduating class of 1955, where she made and kept friends for a lifetime.

Lorraine married Wayne Hendrickson on September 1, 1956 in Belle Fourche. Together they moved to Spearfish, South Dakota where Wayne was working at the Homestake Sawmill and lived there for seven years. During that time two sons were born, Bruce and Barry.

Lorraine was an expert homemaker and accomplished seamstress. Wedding gowns and bridal dresses were her favorite projects along with dress shirts and sport coats for Wayne and the boys as they were growing up. She also worked part-time for the U&I Sugar Company at their factory in Belle Fourche as their timekeeper and payroll clerk. In 1963, the family moved back to Belle Fourche. With the boys now in school, Lorraine returned to work full-time. She worked for the Tri-State Milling Company doing bookkeeping work and tracking grain inventories until 1977 and then was employed at the Farmer’s Rancher’s Cooperative. Lorraine worked there for 21 years retiring in 1998 as their head bookkeeper and computer systems operator.

Lorraine enjoyed reflecting on all of the people she had known over the years and the good times that they had shared together- this includes her family, classmates, co-workers, customers, and care providers. Lorraine’s special joy and greatest satisfaction came from her life with Wayne, her sons, their wives and her grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Bruce (Liane) Hendrickson of Casper, Wyoming and Barry (Patty) Hendrickson of St. Louis, MO, her grandchildren, Kimberly Hendrickson (Bruno Tirbois) of Boise, ID, Janelle Andrade of Casper, Wyoming, Alec Hendrickson of St. Louis, MO, and Paul Hendrickson of St. Louis MO, brother Paul Kindsfater of Belle Fourche, SD. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, parents Alex and Lydia Kindsfater, and sister, Marion Aberle.

A committal service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at 1:30pm at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota. If you will be attending her committal services, the family reminds everyone to arrive at about 1:15pm.
