Louis Robert Vigus was born on November 13, 1967, in Auburn, Washington. On April 27, 2026, he passed away peacefully at his home in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by his loving family. Today, we honor a man whose life was marked by dedication, resilience, and a spirit that inspired those around him.
Louis was a man of remarkable skill and commitment, having devoted 28 years to the trade of electrician work—a craft he not only mastered but carried out with pride and precision. A graduate of Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he further advanced his expertise through the Electrician Apprenticeship Program offered by the IBEW in Cheyenne. His hands brought light and power into countless spaces, symbolizing not just his profession but his approach to life: reliable, steady, and necessary.
Throughout his life, Louis carried a motto that truly encapsulated his approach: “Work hard, play hard.” This was reflected in his robust personality—easygoing yet strong, generous to a fault, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Known for his happy demeanor and tough spirit, Louis remained positive throughout his illness, a testament to his unyielding strength and character.
Louis’ passions extended beyond his profession. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and four-wheeling. The roar of engines and the speed of NASCAR thrilled him, and he found joy in traveling with his beloved wife. Together, they embraced four-wheeling adventures, attended NASCAR races, enjoyed moments of excitement gambling, and cherished their time outdoors. These memories now stand as living testaments to a life well-lived and shared.
Family was central to Louis’ existence. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Tamara “Tammie” Vigus, his daughter Victoria Vigus, and treasured bonus children Kaleanna (Mike) Schadwill and Matthew (Becca) Willadsen. He was a proud grandfather to three granddaughters: Mandalynn Jennings, Grace Schadwill, and Adaline Willadsen. His parents, Bob and Donna Vigus, along with his sister Laura Vigus, survive him, each carrying forward the legacy of a man who valued kinship above all.
Louis’ journey came full circle in Wyoming, the state where he built his career and family, and where he showed unwavering devotion to those he loved. He will be remembered not only for his skilled electrician work, a career he was immensely proud of, but also for his generous spirit, his joyous outlook, and his unbreakable will.
Today, as we reflect on the life of Louis Robert Vigus, we salute a man who stood tall through challenge and triumph alike. He exemplified what it means to serve, to persevere, and to love without reservation. His light, much like the electricity he so expertly managed, will forever continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rest well, Louis. The duty you carried in this life is honored and remembered. Your mission here may have ended, but your legacy endures.
