Rose Madeleine "Lynn" (Anselmi) Lockhart
Rose Madeline Lockhart, Age 92, of Rock Springs, passed away May 21st, 2026, at Wyoming Medical Center. Lynn was born June 11th, 1933, to Rudolph “Rudy” Anselmi, and Louise F. (Shuster) Anselmi.
Lynn met and married Tom Lockhart in 1960 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Lynn lived a life rooted in love, commitment, and steadfast devotion to those she held dear. A dedicated homemaker, Lynn raised four beautiful children and poured her heart into creating a home where everyone is welcomed, cherished, and safe. She was the best grandma—opening her door, her arms, and her heart to her grandchildren. She taught us to love fiercely, to extend tenderness even in the hardest seasons, and to be forgiving when life asked more of us than we felt we had to give.
Lynn Lockhart is a true Wyoming favorite daughter—lifelong academic, education ambassador, and champion of educational opportunities for women. Lynn graduated as valedictorian from Rock Springs High School in the spring of 1951, going on to earn honors with her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Wyoming in 1955. While at the University of Wyoming, Lynn was President of her Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority—and active KKG sister ever since.
Lynn served as a real-world Polly Pacific representative for Pacific Power & Light during the late 1950’s. She was part of the utility’s consumer outreach efforts to promote modern electrical living, hosting public events, agricultural committee programs, and interactive displays designed to educate women and families.
Lynn’s love of teaching and academia compelled her to complete her Master’s Degree in Education from Portland State in 1993, with emphasis toward the non-traditional student and women’s opportunities.
Lynn championed causes she was passionate about—the Five Trails Rotary Club and Casper Rotary Foundation— Chairman of American Field Service (AFS) Foreign Exchange Student Program—University of Wyoming Academic Representative West Coast and Salt Lake—and University of Wyoming Art Museum Advisory Board. Lynn joined the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) in 1977, served as an officer and member for nearly five decades, rising to become President of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Casper, Wyoming, regional chapters.
In addition to her parents, Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, an infant son, a grandson, and her sisters MaryLou and Jeri.
Lynn is survived by her daughter, Frances (Matthew) Brinkman; son, Tom (Jennifer) Lockhart; son, Ted (Liz) Lockhart; daughter, Gini (Dag) Lockhart-Pedersen; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Lynn's legacy is one of unconditional love, resilience, and the quiet, steady strength that shaped generations. Her presence will be missed beyond measure, but her love will live on in all those whose lives she touched.
