Lynne Adelle Gebhart passed away peacefully March 26,2026 after a short illness. She was 89 years old.
Lynne was born November 30, 1936. Her parents, Thelma and James Dvorak, drove from their home in Lander Wyoming to Casper for a visit with family when Lynne decided Casper would be a good place to be born. She made her entrance into this world at what was at that time Memorial Hospital. Her family lived in Lander until Lynne was 8 years old and they made the move to Casper. When she was 17 the family moved to Cody, Wyoming where she met her future husband on a blind date, arranged by mutual acquaintances of her brother. They dated for a year and in 1954, their senior year at Cody High school, Dick asked for her hand in marriage. Their English teacher told then it would never last. Here we are 71 years later, and they have never regretted that decision once. They were wed October 20,1954, at the Methodist Church in downtown Casper, Wyoming. Their first-born son arrived exactly 9 months later to the day, which indicated a successful honeymoon. She went on to have 3 more children which were all daughters.
In 1966 Lynne started working for Casper College alongside her mother. Oh, the fun and laughter those two shared working side by side. Wherever they were together you knew something happy was happening. In 1968 Lynne started her 13-year career as a Bus Driver/Custodian at N.C.S.D. Upon her husband’s retirement with the Casper Police Department in 1981, they took a different path, and she became part owner and manager of the Tensleep Saloon in Tensleep, WY. Because of their close relationship, her mother moved to Tensleep to be closer to her. They enjoyed each other’s companionship for the next 9 years, until her mother went to heaven in 1994. They were known throughout the Tensleep area for their world-famous homemade burritos and salsa. In 1995 her and her husband sold the bar and moved back to Casper to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. After returning to Casper Lynne went back to work for N.C.S.D. as a Special Needs Bus Assistant for several years until she retired.
Lynne loved flowers and gardening. Lynne and her mother took great joy in growing beautiful gardens in Tensleep every year. She loved hot rolls, Chinese food, a comfy pair of sweats, Thursday lunch with the family and the joy of her cat Ted on her lap while she napped. She had a terrific sense of humor which has been passed on to her children. She was up for any kind of adventure and really loved some shenanigans. Most of all she loved the Lord with her whole heart. Lynne was so kind to everyone. She was well loved by so many. She will be missed by her husband of 71 years Dick, her brother Jim Dvorak, her son Dick (Janet), Daughters Christy Toups (Pete), Kim Huss (Jim), and Donna Feyhl (Paul), She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Shawn Huss, Eric Huss (Maranda), Christopher Huss (Natalie), Emilee Toups (Jesus), Michael Toups (Jonica), eight great grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephew.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her two favorite charities, the Humane Society and Central Wyoming Hospice and Transition. Services will be at 1:00 on March 31, 2026, at Newcomers Funeral Home. The Family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Banner Health that took such great care of her. Special thanks to Hospice for treating our mama and her family with such dignity and respect.
