Mary Jane Kleemeyer

November 24, 1948 — August 4, 2025

Mary Jane Kleemeyer was born Nov. 24, 1948 in Scottsbluff, NE to Ed and Florence Rau, also having two older siblings: Roger and Stan. Mary grew up on a farm outside of Scottsbluff where she worked hard in the fields with her family everyday all while going to school and getting an education and participating in sports and other school activities. In 1969 Mary found the love of her life and married Jack Kleemeyer of Minnatare, NE and together began a life and family that later grew and moved to Douglas, WY in 1978 where she then planted her roots and raised her family of 3 boys: Jason, Scott and Cody.

After settling in Douglas, Mary enjoyed her town along with the community around her by participating in bowling, bingo and church events that came along. She always had a smile and was never afraid to meet new people or try new things or go places with friends or family. Mary always had a way of making life happen whenever times got tough or someone could use a helping hand. She loved working with her family whenever any projects came around and also enjoyed all the help she received when her own projects came around. Mary had a way of making any project enjoyable by working hard and laughing along the way. She was the first to show up and the last to leave.

After 52 yrs. of marriage in Sept, 2021 Mary lost her husband to a sudden medical issue that changed her life forever. She continued forward with life and continued to enjoy all the love and support that everyone around gave her. She still kept her smile on her face and still loved to be with her friends and family. Mary fell into a group of friends in Douglas that loved doing things together everyday full of laughter, fun and adventure. She always enjoyed their company and the food each would prepare, along with the road trips they would take whether it be a simple trip to Casper, WY for bingo night or going to Deadwood to gamble on slots. It didn’t matter where they went as long as they did it together, because everywhere they went the memories that were created and the smiles and laughter from jokes will never fade.

Mary was such a beautiful angel to life and everyone that knew her or knew of her had nothing but good things to say about her and truly enjoyed her company and smile. Mary was called home by THE LORD on Aug 4, 2025 while facing her illness with incredible strength and grace and will forever be remembered for all the love and happiness that she brought into this world. Mary, again you are an angel from GOD and we all are forever grateful for having met you and for having you in our lives. You will be missed but never forgotten, we all love you and will see you again someday in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be pending for a later date.
