Maxine Marie Vermeulen

Maxine Marie Vermeulen, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother joined our lord on Thursday April 16, 2026 at the age of 73 in Casper Wy. A memorial service will take place at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery on April 23, 2026 at 11:00 am. There will be a celebration of life to follow at the VFW on Bryan Stock Trail at noon.

Maxine was born in Huron, SD on January 26, 1953 to James and Alice Mayer and was the second of seven children, Terry, Jim, Leonard, Michael, Cathy, and Stephanie. "Max" graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1971. Maxine married the love of her life, Gary, on the 21st of June, 1974 and gave birth to three amazing children, Becky, Chris, and Misty. The family relocated to Casper, WY in 1977 where they still reside today. Max loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice Mayer, and her daughter, Rebecca. She is survived by her Husband, Gary, her children, Christopher and Misty, seven grandchildren, Joshua, Katlin, Zachary, Melissa, Makaylee, Logan, Tessa, and seven great grandchildren.

Maxine will be remembered for her kindness, fierce loyalty, and love for her family. Her laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew her. From the proper way to tie a fishing knot or how to make the perfect tortilla, Max was an amazing teacher and trusted mentor to all. If you spent any time with her it was easy to see that her grand and great grandchildren were the center of her universe. Her warm smile and inviting laugh will be remembered by all.

Friends and family are invited to Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery on April 23, 2026, at 11:00 am. There will be a celebration of life to follow at the VFW on Bryan Stock Trail at noon.
