Michael Ladd Brownewell

Michael Ladd Brownewell passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 72, in the presence of his wife and loved ones.

Born on November 14, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Colorado Boulder. He built a successful career as an insurance broker, insurance business owner, and entrepreneur in business, patent, and technology development.

Michael will be remembered for his creativity, resourcefulness, and love of working with his hands. An avid woodworker, Michael built many things around his and Linda’s home, from cabinets to pantries indoors, and patios to decks outdoors. He enjoyed landscaping and taking on projects of all kinds. He also loved dogs, camping, four-wheeling, and spending time outdoors.

Michael is survived by his wife, Linda Brownewell; his stepson, Shaun Musselman, and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Hardy (Cathy) and Haley (Trae); great-grandchildren, Maverik, Carter, and Wesley; his stepson, Jason Musselman, and wife, Kelly; and grandchildren, Nicholas (Sarah), Caelan, Garrett, and Wyatt.

Michael’s family and friends will cherish the memories of his adventurous and cantankerous spirit, his many projects, and the time they shared with him.
