Michael (Mike) DeFreece, 71, of Casper passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Central Wyoming Hospice. He was born to William (Bill) and Jean (Bomhoff) DeFreece, June 16, 1954 in Cheyenne, Wyoming but spent most of his life living in Casper, graduating from NCHS in 1972. Mike married Dawn Canfield in Story, Wyoming on August 18, 1979.
After 42 years of service, Mike retired from Komatsu Mining Corp, June 2022, previously known as Harnischfeger Corp and P&H Mining Equipment.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, both sets of grandparents, as well as his in-laws.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dawn, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Mike Rodgers, granddaughters - Brylee and Maddy of Casper, mother Jean, brother and sister-in-law Scott and Susan of Cheyenne, along with aunts and cousins.
We would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at both Converse County Memorial Hospital of Douglas and Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date.
