Norman Dike Brown, a beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at Meadow Wind Assisted Living in Casper, Wyoming. He was born on February 16, 1950, in Roseburg, Oregon, to Norman and Evelyn (Payne) Brown and grew to be a man of many talents and a spirit cherished by all who knew him.
Norman led a multifaceted career that was a testament to his skills and dedication. Norman ran an auto parts store and spent time working in the logging industry, proving himself a versatile seeker of knowledge and experience. In addition, he served as a pastor, bringing comfort and guidance to his community, while also working as a diesel mechanic. His hands were often found turning wrenches at the uranium mines in the gas hills and later at Wyoming Machinery and Fab Tech, where he concluded his professional journey.
Education played an important role in shaping Norman's life, and he proudly graduated from Riverton High School as a Wolverine. He attended Rhema Bible Training School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This foundation helped foster his strong work ethic and compassion, qualities that he carried throughout his life.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Norman will remember him as a quiet, humble, and tidy individual—an excellent listener who always made those around him feel valued. His sweetness and gentle spirit allowed him to connect with others in meaningful ways, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Among the treasured memories of his life, Norman found great joy in hunting trips with his granddaughter, Whitney, and his wife, Catherine. The laughter shared during these times, particularly the playful inquiry of whether a dead deer was merely taking a nap, showcased the warmth and spirit of his family bonds. He cherished weekends at the cabin; a place filled with joy and memories with family and friends that Norman held dear. Norman was also a Chaplin for RFC (Racers of Christ) for 10 years. He enjoyed spending weekends at the track with family and race friends.
Norman was proudest of his role as a dad and grandpa. He is survived by his loving son, Norman (Amber) Brown, and his adoring grandchildren, Rory and Whitney, as well as great-grandchildren Nash and Oaklee Foreman. He is also survived by his sister, Teri Duzik (Tom Hammer).
Norman's life was profoundly impacted by the love of his parents and the companionship of his late wife, Catherine Brown, with whom he shared 50 beautiful years. He also mourned the loss of his sisters, Evelyn Jayne Cochran and Karyn Lea Brown, whose absence is felt deeply in the hearts of those who remain.
As we gather our hearts and memories in honor of Norman Dike Brown, we celebrate a man who lived with purpose, humility, and love. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the stories they carry forward. He ran his race, and lived his life, as an example of Jesus to everyone around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
