Peggy Ann Foote

Peggy Ann Foote, 69, of Lander, WY passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Peggy was the oldest of 3 children, and one of many cousins, who grew up, and graduated, in Guernsey, WY. Peggy enjoyed working for the City of Guernsey, in fact her final resting place will be the very cemetery that she took care of for years. That is until she got the opportunity to work as a Security Guard for the Ammo Dump at the National Guard Camp, where she also worked for several years. 

Peggy never married, but devoted herself to her nieces and nephews, and they all shared the same love of cartoons.

For years, Peggy had only one niece, Melissa. Melissa loved hanging out at Peggy’s house because she always had all the latest cartoons. 

Roger’s kids knew Peggy as the funny goofy aunt who would tease them and make them giggle. They looked forward to her coming to visit them, whether it was in Wyoming, Idaho, or New Mexico, it didn’t matter, Peggy would be there. She didn’t come alone, she always brought Grandma too. It didn’t take long after arriving before Peggy and the kids would go watch cartoons and play games, with lots of laughter and giggles.

 Peggy moved to Lander after her job at the Guard Camp ended unexpectedly, due to automated security. Peggy was heartbroken, as she loved her job, and loved Guernsey. However, her sister Cindy invited her to come up to Lander, because there was plenty of work there. Eventually Peggy moved into Cindy’s extra room and Peggy got to enjoy her favorite title, of being a Great Aunt, as Melissa had also moved in with Cindy a few years after she had had Megan. Then Peggy, and Cindy, got to help Melissa raise Megan and watch her grow. 

Peggy will be missed by all of her nieces and nephews as well as everyone who knew her and loved her. 

Peggy is survived by her brother Roger (Tanya) Foote, of Newcastle, WY, their 9 children and families. Her niece Melissa Gross and her Great Niece Megan Gross.

 Peggy is preceded in death by, Her Father and Mother, Rodney and Wanda Foote, her Sister Cindy Gross, and Niece Rachel Foote. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 17th, at 4 pm at the Lynne Gardens Meeting Room, 203 S 4th St. Lander, WY. Cremation has taken place, her final resting place will be back home in Guernsey WY, next to her loved ones.
