Penny Jo Oneal, aged 77, of Casper, WY, passed away on October 6, 2025. Born on December 11, 1947, in Casper, WY, Penny was the oldest child of John and Patricia Wilson. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1966, where she met her high school sweetheart, Robert Watson, whom she married in 1967.
Penny was a strong-willed woman who loved her family fiercely. She helped take care of her siblings and cared for her mother until she passed. Penny was very active as a teen in Jobs Daughters Bethel 40 in Casper. She dedicated herself to her children's lives through church youth groups, always putting her children first. She was actively involved in Bethel 21 with her daughter, ensuring she attended meetings, and she served as the team mom for her son's cross country and track, loving to travel the state to encourage the children. As a grandmother, she cherished watching her grandchildren's concerts, Special Olympics, and 4-H events. When she was feeling unwell, she made a point to watch them online.
In 2008, she married a longtime friend, Jack Oneal. They moved to Florida, where Penny enjoyed being active in church groups, spending time with family, and dining out. In 2015, she returned to Casper, where she continued to enjoy family time. She loved fishing, going shopping, enjoying the wine train, or just hanging out at a barbecue. After moving into her apartment, she enjoyed eating out with anyone who would take her, playing bingo, putting together puzzles, and sharing community time at luncheons or just hanging out.
She is survived by her children, Margaret (Randy) Kerns, John (Jennifer) Watson, and Robert (Kristie) Watson. Penny is also cherished by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings Debra Scranton, Patrick Wilson, and Barbara Eckhardt, as well as her sisters-in-love, Paula and Karen Watson, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
