Celebrating the Life of Ranells McDaniel

Ranells McDaniel, better known to everyone as Nell, left this world on September 4,

2025, at the age of 65. She was born on June 19, 1960 in Midland, Texas, to Henry Dean McDaniel Sr. and Oneida Ghoston, and later made Casper, Wyoming, her forever home.

Nell's life was full of laughter, love, and family. She raised three children—Zechariah Jones, William (Lealla) Jones, and Dacia Edwards (Jody Clark)—who were her pride and joy. She also poured her heart into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and kept her spirit young.

If you knew Nell, you knew she loved being around people. Whether she was at the casino playing the slots, shooting dice, or playing spades and bidwiz with family, she made every gathering a party. She had a big heart, a bigger laugh, and an open seat at her table for anyone who needed it.

Family was everything to Nell. She loved "all the babies and kids," making sure they always felt seen, loved, and fed. Good food, good company and good fun—those were her essentials in life. Her siblings, cousins, friends, and neighbors all knew her as someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone—because Nell never met a stranger.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Henry Clark, her sister Ellen Emmanuel, and many others who she has now joined in eternal rest. She leaves behind a family who will carry her stories, her laughter, and her love in their hearts forever.

Nell's greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind grandchildren Alliah Lopez Lilly Clark, Octavia Edwards, Omiah Edwards, Teanna Montoya, Kaden Jones, Dominic (Makaila) Jones, KyZaia Jones, Zakaya Jones, Omarion Edwards, Kaden Pyle, O’MiIiana Edwards- Clark and Zechariah "Cake" Jones, Chance and Michael Sitting Eagle as well as two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Henry Dean McDaniel Jr. of Casper, Wyoming, Alvin Jones Sr. of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Barbara Ann Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio and Linda Kay Williams of California.

Nell's life will be celebrated Friday, September 19,2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home with a viewing from 1-2 p.m. and services starting at 2 p.m. Where friends and family will gather to honor her legacy and the joy she brought to so many. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens Cemetery followed by a reception at Best Western, downtown to follow.
