Emblem

Raymond LeRoy Frederick Jr., affectionately known as "Bubby," embodied a spirit that was larger than life itself. He was born on December 9, 1958, in Casper, Wyoming, to Ray and JoAnn (Downey) Frederick. Raymond departed this world on June 23, 2025, under the compassionate care of Central Wyoming Hospice, leaving behind a tapestry of memories woven with love, laughter, and loyalty.

A proud veteran, Raymond enlisted in the United States Army in July of 1976 and served with honor until his discharge in July 1979. His time in the Army, with the esteemed Big Red One - First Infantry, was but one of the proud chapters of a life committed to service and camaraderie. Following his military duty, he carved out a respectable career as a Truck Driver in the Oilfield, affectionately dubbed "Oilfield Trash," where he met the rigors of the job with the same dogged determination that marked every venture in his life.

Raymond’s education began in the local schools—Lincoln and Roosevelt, followed by Dean Morgan Jr. High and Natrona County High School—where he first forged the connections that sustained him throughout his life. He was not only a dedicated worker but also a steadfast friend; always available to his family and friends at any hour, embodying the essence of dependability and generosity. His family could always count on him, whether it was to lend a hand during tough times or simply share a laugh over good food.

A gentle giant whose demeanor held power yet comfort, Raymond was renowned for his "Frederick Fits" when provoked. His formidable presence was enveloped in love, making him a loving father and grandfather. His daughters, Chelcie Frederick (Tylor Ebel) and Courtney Frederick, will forever cherish his embrace and guidance. As they reminisce, they will feel the warmth of his love reflected in his grandchildren, Savannah Ebel and Conor Ebel, who were dearly treasured by their 'Grandpa Bub'.

Raymond’s life was rich with vibrant interests, from walking his dogs, Murdock and Sis, and taking them on leisurely drives, to indulging his passions for motorcycles and classic cars. He found joy in cruising up the mountain and taking his dogs down by the river in North Casper, where he grew up with many lifelong friends and family. His love for chili dogs/burgers, and all over love for food invited many gatherings with friends, as he effortlessly blended companionship and enjoyment.

His heart extended to not only his immediate family but also to a constellation of sisters, including Debra (Odean) Dreyer of Casper and her kids Freedom and David Brewbaker, and Laura Frederick of Peoria, Illinois, and her children, Gina and Donovan and his brother, Norman P. Frederick of Casper and his sons, Norman Jr and Nick Frederick. He embraced his bonus daughter, Christie Kay Otto, and his bonus grandchildren, Jenna and Steven, adding layers of connection to his already loving nature. Raymond's expansive circle included numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends, or, as he would have them called, family too.

Raymond's departure leaves a profound emptiness among those who loved him and were loved by him. He is reunited in spirit with his parents, grandparents, his niece Lacey, nephew Gunner, his beloved dogs, the mother of his children, Jolynn "Jody" Hudson, and his longtime companion, Tammy Green. Each one carries a piece of his legacy, forever bound by the threads of cherished memories. He looked forward in reuniting with best friends Chris Gallagher and Dave Sandoval Jr., and many of the North Side brothers and sisters.

As we reflect on the life of Raymond LeRoy Frederick Jr., we celebrate a man who truly gave the shirt off his back to those he held dear. In his hearty laugh, his fierce loyalty, and his tender heart, Raymond lives on—ever the gentle giant and the devoted friend whose impact will be lovingly remembered long into the future.
