Richard "Rick" Dean Fink, a dedicated husband, father, and friend, passed away on August 20, 2024 in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on September 12, 1958, in Belle Fouche, South Dakota, Rick lived a life imbued with love, hard work, and a steadfast commitment to those around him.
Rick’s professional journey began with his graduation from Natrona County High School in 1977. He started as an apprentice and dedicated 38 years of his life to mastering the art of sheet metal work until his retirement in 2019. His career path was emblematic of his character—driven, diligent, and dedicated to craftsmanship. With a reputation as a master journeyman, Rick's expertise and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike.
Beyond the workplace, Rick was a multifaceted individual with a generous spirit and a passion for a wide variety of interests. He cherished the warmth of family gatherings, often bringing everyone together with his love for cooking and barbecuing. His creativity flourished in his workshop, where he could spend hours tinkering away on projects, crafting furniture, and bringing his visions to life. His enthusiasm for antiques reflected his appreciation for history and detail, while his pride in maintaining a beautiful garden and lawn showcased his dedication to nurturing life in all forms.
Rick’s spirit extended beyond home improvement and culinary delights; he loved to spend time outdoors with hobbies such as fishing, camping, shooting guns, golfing, and even gold panning. Those fortunate enough to know him will remember his ever-present wit, charisma, and the infectious laughter he brought to the room. He was a role model to many, exhibiting selflessness, loyalty, and kindness, qualities that are rare and cherished in today’s world.
Rick is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Diane Fink, and his children, Shawn (Kara) Fink, Crystal Marsh-Fink, Jeanette (Craig) Wright, Austin (Amanda) Fink, and Amber Fink. He took great pride in the legacy he fostered, which includes his beloved grandchildren: Tyler, Anna, Samuel, Kade, Hailey, Hunter, Carson, Landon, Trevyn, Greysen, Kayden, Mia, Jaxson, Korben, Mason, and Brayden. He is also survived by his mother, Nadine "Jackie" Fink, and four sisters, Rosanne Galloges, Bonnie Hill, Kris Jones, and Sandy Fowler, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick now joins his father, Glenn Fink, in eternity. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
